Q: How do I know if my position is in a bargaining unit exclusively represented by a union?
A: You need to know your job title to determine if your position is in a bargaining unit. If you don't know your job title, you can find it on your paystub or by asking your supervisor. When you know your job title, go to the Title and Pay Information page. Enter your job title in the field under "Search by job title." Click Submit and you'll see a chart that shows if your position is represented by a bargaining unit or not.

Q: How can I get a copy of my contract?
A: You can either contact your union representative for a copy of the contract or go to Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Q: Am I automatically a union-dues-paying member?
A: No, you aren't automatically a member of the union. You must join the union to become a dues-paying member. If you are in a bargaining unit that is exclusively represented by a union, you must pay an Agency fee if you choose not to join.

Q: How do I contact my union representative?
A: Go to Collective Bargaining Agreements to find a list of unions that represent UCSD employees.

Q: Who should I call if I am a staff employee and have a problem with my supervisor?
A: Contact Employee Relations.

Q: What is the PERB?
A: Read Public Employment Relations Board.
