Find out about 2012-2013 holiday-related closures at UCSD.
During the 2012 holiday season, UC San Diego (excluding the hospitals and clinics) will officially close for 11 days from Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 to Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. This closure will result in significant energy savings from reduced operations.
The closure period includes four 4 paid holidays (Dec. 24, 25, 31, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013) and 3 working days (Dec. 26, 27, and 28). Staff employees must charge their time for the 3 working days to accrued vacation, accrued compensatory time off (non-exempt only), or leave without pay. Academic employees on fiscal year appointments must charge the time off to accrued vacation or leave without pay.
See the campus notice for more information.
This page will also list departments and facilities with exceptions to the standard university closure schedule, as they are announced. Note that regular business hours resume Tuesday, Jan. 2, unless otherwise noted. To add an item to the list, contact Campus Web Office.
