Notes on older models:

- G3 upgrade cards are available for all Power Macintosh computers. However, Apple's next operating system upgrade, OS X, will not support the G3 upgrade cards.
- Macs released prior to the Power Macintosh series are not recommended.
- 64 MB of RAM are adequate for most uses, but 128 MB are recommended for running Java and additional applications at the same time.
- Use the most up-to-date version of Macintosh Runtime for Java (MJR). To run Java Applets in a Web browser, use Internet Explorer 4.5 or 4.0 and select "MRJ" as the Java Virtual Memory (VM). Netscape Communicator 4.5 and earlier versions do not support Java applets adequately.
