UCSD creates events that reach out to the San Diego community by presenting information about UCSD services, programs, and the UCSD Principles of Community. Through outreach efforts, the San Diego community (students, parents, local schools, community organizations, local business owners, and the general public) receives information directly from UCSD representatives.
Community Outreach Information Fairs provide a forum to present information about admissions, educational and employment opportunities, business contracting, and UCSD resources and events. UCSD representatives staff information tables and present workshops on admissions, student perspectives, and how to get hired at UCSD.
Fairs are held at various locations in the San Diego community. Host sites have included Southwestern College, Grossmont College, Solana Beach Junior High School, and the Educational Cultural Complex.
The UCSD Campus Outreach committee and the Vice Chancellor — Business Affairs office sponsor these fairs.
