Fliers, brochures, posters, signs and banners
  • Fliers, brochures and posters: Imprints Print Connection can create fliers, brochures and posters, including enlarged posters.
  • Be included in these brochures:
    • Passport to Leadership brochure: This brochure lists the events during the quarter that qualify for a "stamp" in the Passport Series. If you have an event that could be included, contact Jennifer Johnson for more information.
    • Pocket Events Guide: See campus media, below.
  • Signs and banners: Learn more about on-campus sign fabrication services.

  • UCSD home page: To place a notice, contact Janet Howard, (858) 822-2986.
  • UCSD main calendar: Find out how to register and submit events.
  • Blink and TritonLink teasers:
    You can request a teaser, or brief news item, to appear online. This free service is at the discretion of staff and subject to space availability.
    • Blink teasers: To request that a teaser appear on the Blink home page, e-mail the Blink team.
    • TritonLink teasers: You can write custom "teasers" of up to 35 words to appear on the TritonLink home page.
      • Link to the online submission form.

Campus media
  • The UCSD Guardian: Publishes Mondays and Thursdays, except for holidays.
    • Calendar (runs on Mondays): E-mail a 30-50 word description of your UCSD campus event (be sure to include time, place, cost, etc.). Check the Guardian Web site to confirm deadlines.
    • Advertisements: Link to details on how to advertise in the Guardian.
      To reserve ad space, contact Michael Martinez, advertising manager, (858) 534-3467.
    • Teasers: If you have an upcoming event, contact Michael Martinez about submitting a brief news item or "teaser" for the print edition. This free service is at the discretion of Guardian staff and subject to space availability.
  • This Week@UCSD: See listservs/ e-mail newsletters, electronic fliers, below.
  • Pocket Events Guide (PEG): This guide promotes quarterly events at the University Centers. For current advertising information, contact the Marketing Department, (858) 822-2068) or visit the PEG Web site.

Press releases
  • Send prepared and formatted news releases to Pat Jacoby, (858) 534-7404. News releases are featured on the UCSD News site and are sometimes forwarded to outside media outlets. You can also submit story ideas.

Listservs/ e-mail newsletters, electronic fliers
  • UCSD campus notices via listserv: Use these to share information related to UC policy, salary, benefits and other employment-related matters; matters related to campus accounting, purchasing, and administrative systems procedures, safety and security matters; and any administrative notices that legally require the campus community to be official notified.
    • All notices require approval by the cognizant Vice Chancellor or the Chancellor. First, get approval from your director, then contact the assistant to the VC-ER for approval.
    • Notices are distributed by means of an electronic UCSD-notices listserv.

  • Student listserv: This opt-in e-newsletter is for students and other individuals who have subscribed to this service.
    • Read submission requirements.
    • Submit announcements via e-mail.
  • This Week@UCSD: This opt-in e-newsletter is for staff and faculty at UCSD. Send story ideas and completed news releases to Janet Howard, (858) 534-1407. Include photos if possible.
    • If you think an event should be covered, but cannot write the release, contact writer Ioana Patringenaru, (858) 534-0773.
    • Stories are due the Thursday before the Monday publication date, unless you make other arrangements.
  • UCSD electronic fliers: Use these for the majority of announcements regarding campus events, activities, and information of a general nature, e.g., music presentations, blood drives, etc. Fliers do not require a signator.

    • Submit notices to adminrec@ucsd.edu for distribution.

Physical locations
  • Bookstore: To partner with the UCSD Bookstore at events (i.e., getting a table) or to order items for an event, contact Toni Channels, (858) 534-7106.
  • Bridges: You must hang and remove banners yourself. In your request, be sure to include when you will be posting the banner and for how long. Read campuswide posting guidelines.
    • To post a banner on the Gilman bridge (connecting SOM to Revelle College), contact Liora Gutierrez, (858) 534-3493.
    • To post a banner on the Villa La Jolla Bridge (connecting SOM to the VA Hospital), contact Chuck Morgan, (858) 534-5585.
  • Campus shuttles: Read How to Advertise on UCSD Shuttles.
    Note: Messages cannot be submitted earlier than 1 week in advance.
  • Dining facilities (table tents): You can place table tents at all dining facilities for up to 3 days. You must place the table tents yourself, and check in with the dining facility manager ahead of time.
  • Price Center marquee: Use the online booking request. Announcements typically run for 1 week before an event and must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the run date. Announcements are subject to approval and space availability.
  • Residential facilities: Each college has its own policy and procedure for posting notices.
    • Revelle College: See posting guidelines (Word file).
    • Eleanor Roosevelt College: Bring your flier or poster to the Residential Life office in the Middle Earth building for approval.
    • Thurgood Marshall College: Consult the posting policy.
    • John Muir College: Bring your flier or poster to the dean’s office for posting approval.
    • Sixth College: Consult the posting policy.
    • Earl Warren College: Bring your flier or poster to the Residential Life office, Canyon Vista Complex upper level, for approval.
