ChemCycle is UCSD's chemical reuse facility operated by the Environmental Management Facility (EMF). With over 3,000 usable surplus chemicals available free to UCSD researchers, ChemCycle is good for the pocketbook and good for the environment.
Check ChemCycle's inventory before you buy new chemicals:
- Follow instructions on the ChemCycle Web page to search for and request free chemicals.
Delivery options:
- Standard delivery occurs during the next scheduled hazardous waste collection for your building.
- Pick up an order yourself at the EMF (map), 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays.
- Contact the EMF, (858) 534-2753, for urgent deliveries (dependent upon delivery personnel availability).
Donate usable surplus chemicals to ChemCycle. Follow these steps to have EMF technicians pick up your donated chemicals:
- Send a Request Hazardous Waste Collection form identifying the chemicals to be collected.
- Fill out a waste tag for each container you're donating and write For Chemcycle on the tag.
- EMF technicians will pick up the container during the next scheduled hazardous waste collection for your building.
If you are a UCSD employee and have questions, contact the Environmental Management Facility, (858) 534-2753.
