If you leave UCSD, you can continue receiving e-mail sent to your UCSD address. Choose one of these options:
- Forward your messages
You can arrange to have your UCSD e-mail messages forwarded to an off-campus e-mail account for one year. To forward your messages:
- Become a "sponsored guest"
Your former department can sponsor you. Current UCSD employees can also sponsor a spouse or a domestic partner. To become a sponsored guest:
- Contact your department head, MSO, or the department person who is willing to sponsor you.
- Ask the sponsor to send a letter, on department letterhead, to the UCSD Postmistress, Mail Code 0110. The letter must state your department affiliation and
request that your e-mail alias and the forwarding service continue until a specific date.
Note: If your e-mail account is on your department mail server, you may not be able to retain that account after you leave the department. However, a UCSD account can be created for you at your department's request. Please ask your desktop support person about your options.
