How to Enable File Downloads After an XP Upgrade  
 
Summary: If you have installed Windows XP service pack 2 and are using Internet Explorer, you might find that you can no longer access files linked from Blink pages. Follow the instructions on this page to fix it.
What to do for it How to do it
1 Go to the Tools menu at the top of the browser.
  1. Go to Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options.
2 Select the Security tab.
  1. Click the Security tab.
  2. Click Custom Level at the bottom of the box.
3 Change the setting for Downloads.
  1. Scroll down to the Downloads category.
  2. Under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click the Enable radio button.
  3. Click OK.
  4. If a popup window asks you to confirm the change, click Yes.
  5. Click OK.
