How to Access Newsgroups: Entourage (Mac OS X)

Note: Internet newsgroups are accessed through the UCSD USENet news server. To use the UCSD news service, you will need to be connected to the Internet through the UCSD network via an on-campus ethernet connection or the UCSD dial-in service. |

Configure Entourage to access newsgroups. |
- Open Entourage.
- Select Accounts from the Tools pull-down menu. Click the News tab. Click the New button.
- In the Account Name box, type UCSD News. Select the e-mail account from the pull-down menu that you want to associate with this news server.
- In the Organization box, type UCSD. In the News server box, type news.ucsd.edu. Click the OK button, then close the Accounts window.

Subscribe to newsgroups. |
- If you have not already subscribed to any newsgroups, you will be prompted to download a list of newsgroups. Click Yes/Receive.
- In the list of newsgroups, click a newsgroup and then click Subscribe.
To search for a specific newsgroup, type a word or part of a newsgroup name in the Display Newsgroups Containing box.
