Temporary employees fill the need for substitutes when regular employees are ill or on vacation, vacancies exist, or additional help is required when the workload unexpectedly surpasses current staffing levels.

New and existing employees are rotated throughout the campus community on job placements that vary in length from a half-day to several months. TES manages all financial operations associated with the unit including payroll and recharges to customer departments.

Note to UCSD departments:

Due to the U.S. Golf Tournament being held at the Torrey Pines Golf Course, TES staff will be telecommuting the week of June 9-13. TES staff will respond to all voicemail and e-mail messages, and all related customer service requests off-site, but will not be in the office to speak to customers face-to-face.

Business will be conducted as usual but in preparation for the office closure and the limited accessibility of TES staff, please plan to process any hires, transfers, billing inquiries, staffing assistance, etc., prior to the week of the golf tournament.
