ACT Staff

ACT Data Center Operations is responsible for the operational aspects of the Mainframe and Client Server computing facility. The facility is environmentally controlled with secured access, and is staffed seven days a week, 24 hours a day, using three shifts. We monitor and control the performance of all systems and hardware in a multi-platform environment, and print reports and checks for the core campus departments. We also provide support for after-hours and weekend Help Desk calls for ACT.
- First Shift monitors the online systems, prints reports, handles distribution of backup tapes for offsite storage, and handles requests from staff and users.
- Second Shift monitors the online systems until they are shut down, starts and monitors the system, database and client server backups, monitors nightly production schedules, and prints AP checks and batch reports.
- Third Shift continues to start and monitor the backups, monitors the nightly production schedules, completes the printing of AP checks and batch reports, prints Payroll checks when scheduled, and ensures that all online systems are started on time.
