Steelcase Problem Resolution  
 
Summary: On Sept. 1, 2001, the University of California finalized a contract with Steelcase, Inc. The information below provides details on the problem resolution process.

To view and order furniture products online, please visit these Web sites: Steelcase@Marketplace Preview and BKM@UCSD.

Background: Steelcase, UCSD's contract furniture vendor, works through BKM, a local supplier. BKM participates with Steelcase, the UC system, and UCSD in resolving problems that may arise when ordering furniture.

Types of problems that may arise:

  • The Steelcase UC Services Center fails to provide an order confirmation.
  • It's difficult to schedule an appointment with a BKM representative.
  • A BKM representative often misses or arrives late to appointments.
  • You encounter problems with scheduling deliveries or installations.
  • It's difficult to connect with your BKM representative by phone.
  • The information you have is unclear or insufficient.
  • You have questions about the fees you've been charged.
  • You're having difficulties returning a product.
  • The BKM representative is not acting quickly to resolve problems such as missing parts, damaged furniture, or incorrect installation.

Who to contact: To resolve problems such as those listed above, send an e-mail to:

Send copies of the e-mail to:
