Terrorist alerts: This page addresses current campus emergency conditions. For national terrorist alert status, see the Homeland Security Advisory System.

Definitions: This page will be updated with information on major emergencies affecting campus. Color codes for these emergencies:
    Green: Normal. No emergency
    Yellow: Caution. An event involving an entire floor or building and affecting many people; may involve large-scale evacuation and include the need for off-campus emergency response resources
    Red: Emergency. Campus-wide emergency, such as a strong earthquake, which overwhelms available resources and personnel, causing widespread damage and injuries

  • UCSD's Emergency Operations Plan: UCSD's planned response to emergency situations, including fires, hazardous spills, earthquakes, flooding, explosion, and civil disorder
  • How to Develop a Department Emergency Action Plan: For UCSD's emergency preparedness planners; basic procedures and resources to create your department's facility-specific emergency action plan
  • Emergency response map (PDF, 999KB): Shows emergency response regions for the main campus, along with the location of supply containers and hazardous materials usage areas
