Because of the late arrival of grant funds, the Summer Youth Employment Program will not be going forward this year. For summer youth employment opportunities, please see information on the 2008 C-Prep Apprenticeship Program.
For additional information, contact Linda Navarro (858) 534-3705.
High school students can get positive work experience through UCSD's Summer Youth Employment Program. In collaboration with the San Diego Unified School District, UCSD places 10-12 high school students in various campus departments each summer. Students are paid through a grant from the San Diego Unified School District.
All UCSD departments are encouraged to participate.
How to apply for a high school student worker:
- Complete a Job Order form (Word file) (PDF).
- Send the completed form, including specific job duties and skill requirements, to Paul Tagliaferri. You can e-mail, or send it by campus mail (Mail Code 0923), or fax it to (858) 534-8578.
For more information, contact Paul Tagliaferri, program coordinator, (858) 534-3694.
Special note to UCSD employees: If you have a son or daughter who is interested in summer employment at UCSD, they should contact their high school's employer outreach specialist.
