The University of California subscribes to the Institute for Management Studies (IMS). IMS provides high-quality development seminars, available to UCSD employees who are:
- In a management or leadership position
- In a developing leadership role
The 1-day seminars are held in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and 26 other locations. Benefits for participants include:

A $325 per-course registration fee covers continental breakfast, lunch, and course materials. Your department head must determine if your department will cover the fee.
To register online:
- Go to the IMS registration page (no user ID or password required)
- Select organization: Scroll down and select Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (sponsoring organization for the University of California).
- Enter your UCSD e-mail address and title to indicate that you are an eligible participant.
