Rideshare Operations Overview

Summary: UCSD Rideshare Operations offers a variety of programs and incentives designed to reduce traffic, parking congestion, and parking expenses for all commuters.

Programs offered:

  • Vanpools: UCSD faculty, staff, and student employees are eligible to join campus or Medical Center vanpools.
  • Carpools: Two or more commuters can register their carpool and receive additional benefits.
  • Ride-matching service: A ZIP code matching system connects commuters who travel from the same community to campus or Medical Center.
  • Public transit: The Transit/ Coaster Club offers incentives to commuters who take public transportation to campus.
  • Bicycles: The Pedal Club offers incentives to commuters who cycle to campus or Medical Center.
  • Bus passes: UCSD subsidizes unlimited free San Diego Transit bus rides on routes serving campus and Medical Center.
  • Guaranteed Ride Home program: Members of vanpools, carpools, Pedal Club, and Transit/ Coaster Club can get a lift to their home or car when unforeseen circumstances leave them stranded at work.

Tell us how we're doing. If you have ideas for improving Transportation & Parking Services, please e-mail them to TellTPS@ucsd.edu.
