Program guidelines
Qualifications:
- Nominees must be career, Professional and Support Staff (PSS) members, and may be represented or non-represented. Members of the Managers and Senior Professionals (MSP) program, Senior Management Group (SMG) program, and academics are not eligible to be nominated for this program. However, they are eligible and encouraged to nominate and/or endorse PSS employees.
- Nominees must have completed a probationary period, if required.
- Nominees must demonstrate exemplary performance of activities that are above and beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities. As an example, if the employee's job duties do not routinely include community service, but the employee represented UCSD in community service in an exemplary manner, this would qualify as appropriate for nomination.
- Above Expectation or Exceptional performance of all assigned job duties is necessary in addition to other criteria to be considered for an award.
- Nominations must include supporting statements. Nominations without supporting statements will not be considered.
Submission requirements:
- A principal nominator and 2 endorsements are required for each nomination submitted for consideration.
- An individual may serve as a principal nominator for only 1 nomination; however, a principal nominator may endorse other nominations.
- All multiple nominations submitted by a single principal nominator will be invalidated.
- Nominating materials will not be returned.
- Nominate only 1 employee on each nomination form.
- Narrative statements must not exceed 500 words (e.g., 500 words for Part I of the Nomination Form and 500 words for Part II). Supplemental materials will not be considered.
