Electronic Proposal Submission for Federal Grants
| |
Summary: Learn about electronic proposal submission for federal grants and what UCSD is doing to simplify this process. |
All federal agencies are moving toward requiring that proposals be submitted through an online process. The three major federal agencies are:
- Grants.gov, the submission site for most federal proposals. After you submit your proposal through Grants.gov, it will be routed to the granting agency for review.
- National Science Foundation (NSF) Fastlane
- U.S. Army Medical
Electronic proposal submission can be complicated and time-consuming, and agencies are still working out the bugs. The Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) recommends that you allow as much lead time as possible for electronic submission.
UCSD has formed the Electronic Proposal Submission Team to examine electronic proposal submission and simplify the process. Their first task was to develop an Electronic Proposal Repository Service (EPRS) to simplify the use of PureEdge Viewer, the software used by Grants.gov, and allow users working on the same proposal to communicate with each other and see the same proposal view. Learn how to use the EPRS.
