Summary: In celebration of the life and achievements of César E. Chávez and in conjunction with the California state holiday in his honor, UCSD presents a series of events.

These events are open to the entire San Diego community in recognition of César Chávez's contributions as a champion of human rights, a leader in the struggle for working families, and a disciple of the philosophy of non-violence.

UCSD observes the César E. Chávez holiday this year on Friday, March 28.

Thursday, March 27
10th annual César E. Chávez Commemorative Community Breakfast

A community event honoring César E. Chávez's legacy in the San Diego region and recognizing this year's high school scholarship essay contest winners. See ticket information.

14th annual César E. Chávez Parade

UCSD César E. Chávez Celebration Kickoff

UCSD's opening event includes entertainment and an award ceremony honoring Alberto Ochoa and Eva Bustos Melendez for furthering Cesar Chavez's ideals in their communities. A reception follows. For information, call (858) 534-6862.
