Rental vehicle usage: When renting vehicles, use the current UC contract number with the proper agency to obtain insurance coverage. The contract number must be included on the rental contract. Drivers may be personally responsible for insurance costs for the vehicle and accident charges if proper procedures are not followed. Note: Some types of vehicles are not covered by UC contract.

Program details:
- Coverage for eligible individuals, including students, traveling on official university business outside the State of California and foreign only
- Ensures UC business travelers have accident insurance coverage while away from campus
- Register for UC Travel Accident Insurance prior to each trip outside California:
- Complete the online UC Business Travel form, and save changes.
- Print the form for your reference during your trip. The completed form will:
- Verify eligibility
- Provide confirmation of coverage
- Provide emergency information and travel tips
- Note: A link to the form is also available from the "Going on a Trip" feature in TravelLink when preauthorizing travel.
