Indefinite Layoff: Employee may elect severance pay in lieu of preferential rehire and recall rights; one week of salary for each full year of service from the most recent break in service up to 16 weeks of base pay; an employee with 5 or more years of service may elect reduced severance with preferential rehire and recall rights; an employee with 5 or more years of service receives 4 weeks or 20 workdays; an employee with 13 or more years of service receives 8 weeks or 40 workdays; an employee with less than 5 years of service receives no reduced severance. Employees who are laid off following a reduction in time that occurred within 60 calendar days of the layoff notice shall be eligible for severance, or reduced severance, on the basis of their percentage of appointment just prior to their reduction in time.
