UCSD Fleet Services provides a full range of automotive services for vehicles owned by university departments. The diverse fleet consists of more than 300 vehicles of 4 makes and more than 25 models.
In addition to providing vehicle repair and maintenance services, Fleet Services offers:
Drivers of privately owned vehicles experiencing difficulties on campus can request basic roadside service through Transportation & Parking Services Motorist Assistance Program.
Fleet Services offers routine maintenance and other services for university-owned vehicles. The requesting department is responsible for the costs.

Routine service: Fleet Services recommends that departments bring in UCSD vehicles for service every 4,000 to 6,000 miles or every 4–6 months, whichever comes first. Routine service includes:
- Changing the oil and oil filter
- Lubricating the chassis
- Rotating tires
- Checking all fluids
- Pressure-testing the cooling system
- Inspecting the suspension, brakes, lights, battery, exhaust system, belts, and hoses
- Other services: Fleet Services also offers the following in-house maintenance and repair services for university vehicles:
- Light engine and transmission repair
- Vehicle outfitting
Tuneups
- Shuttle bus inspection and repair
- Air conditioning repair
- Trailer inspection and repair
- Brake repair
- Preventive maintenance
- Tire service and repair
- Repair gas and electric carts
- Washing and detailing
- Emissions testing
We can arrange for the following services to be done by an outside shop:
- Auto body and paint repair
- Front end alignment
- Upholstery repair
- Radio installation
- Frame repair
- Engine and transmission overhaul
- Radiator repair
- Installation of vehicle signage
Fleet Services does NOT provide the following:
- Repair of personal or Marketplace vehicles
- Machining parts
- Towing vehicles
