Messenger Service  
 
Summary: UCSD Mail Services offers a messenger service to pick up and deliver official UCSD correspondence to on- and off-campus locations. Read about messenger service rates and service areas.

Messenger service costs vary depending on the delivery or pickup location and are recharged to your department's index:

Location Service area Rates
Campus Includes UCSD campus, Torrey Pines Center North and South, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Thorton Hospital, La Jolla Professional Center, Veterans' (VA) Hospital $6.00
Medical Center Includes UCSD Medical Center and Hillcrest $8.50
Off campus Includes all other locations $12.00
minimum

There is an additonal charge of $2.50 per 15 minutes if:
  • The messenger is delayed at the pickup or delivery location
  • The pickup and delivery consists of six or more boxes
Pickup and delivery hours:
  • On-campus pickups and deliveries are made weekdays throughout the day.
  • Off-campus pickups and deliveries are made once every weekday, and must be scheduled by 10 a.m. for same-day delivery. Requests received after 10 a.m. will be scheduled for the following work day.


  • Note: The messengers are part-time student assistants.

  • Pickup location
  • Name and extension of contact person
  • Location of delivery
  • Index to be recharged
  • Description of item
