UCSD offers Web-based training in several areas including information technology, business, sexual harassment prevention, and UCSD-specific financial and safety topics. Learn about the available resources:
Web tutorials
Web tutorials are available for some UCSD-specific financial and safety topics. View the tutorials via the links below, using the "EC credit" link if you want to have the tutorial recorded on your Enrollment Central and MyTraining training histories. Non-employees can use the "certificate only" or "no credit" links to view the tutorials and, for safety tutorials, print a certificate upon successful completion.
Element K
This vendor-hosted, Web-based training resource is a free service for current UCSD faculty, staff, and students only. Element K is available around the clock and is compatible with PCs and Macs. Staff and faculty have access to IT and business courses, and UCSD students have access to the full IT library.
Sexual harassment prevention
In compliance with California State Law AB 1825, UCSD requires all supervisors and managers to take 2 hours of sexual harassment prevention training every 2 years. To fulfill this requirement, take a UC-sponsored online course, offered through Workplace Answers, or take a classroom-style course through Enrollment Central. For more details, see Mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention Training or Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy.
WebCT
WebCT is a course management tool that faculty can use to offer Web access to course materials and Web-based tools, such as discussion boards, chat rooms, quizzes, and grade posting.
Distance learning resources
Distance Learning Resources provides links to academic and commercial distance learning resources and free tutorials for popular software.
