The Community Service Officer Program offers many safety-related services, including year-round campus safety escorts.
Call extension 4-WALK or (858) 534-9255 for a safety escort. Community Service Officers (CSOs) offer this service from sunset to 1 a.m. every day of the year. After 1 a.m., this service may be handled by other police department personnel.
The CSO Program employs only UCSD students. In addition to serving as safety escorts, CSOs also:
- Patrol parking lots
- Lock up buildings
- Provide additional security at campus events
- Assist with medical emergencies
