San Diego County requires UCSD employees who work with hazardous materials to receive annual refresher training in hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and emergency response.
First-time training: If you have not yet completed initial training in safely handling hazardous materials, you must attend Hazardous Waste Training through Enrollment Central. Annual hazardous materials refresher training is required thereafter.
There are 2 ways to get annual refresher training:

- Review and sign annually a copy of the Hazardous Materials Business Plan Training document (PDF) (Word file) provided by your area supervisor.
- Keep the signed Hazardous Materials Business Plan document with your training records.
Keep training records where you can easily retrieve them upon request by inspectors. County inspectors audit UCSD training compliance during their annual inspections.
