How to Make Long Distance Calls  
 
Summary: Most phones on campus require an authorization code for calls outside our local area. If you charge calls to more than one index, you will need an authorization code for each index. When you're off-campus you'll need a calling card.
What you should do How you should do it
1 Follow these steps to place a domestic long-distance call.
  1. Press * 6 *
  2. Enter your authorization code.
  3. Press # 8
  4. Enter the area code and the number.
2 Follow these steps to place a long-distance call to a foreign country.
  1. Press * 6 *
  2. Enter your authorization code.
  3. Press # 1 6
  4. Enter the country code.
  5. Enter the city code.
  6. Enter the number.
