How to Use Speed Dial  
 
Summary: Learn how you can program the speed-dial feature on unused buttons on your digital phone. Each button can accept up to 20 digits, so you can include authorization codes and calling card numbers.

Note: The information on this page is generally applicable to most phone models at UCSD. You may need to check specific information about your phone and the features available to you.

What you should do How you should do it
1 Start the sequence to program or reprogram a button for speed dial.
  1. Leave the handset down.
  2. Press Program.
  3. Press the button you want to program.
2 Enter the phone numbers you want to program for speed dial.

Note: If you make a mistake, you can restart this step by pressing Clear, C, or E.

  1. For on-campus numbers, enter the last 5 digits of the number.
  2. For off-campus local numbers, enter 8, then the area code, followed by the 7-digit phone number.
  3. For long-distance numbers, enter 8, then the area code, followed by the 7-digit phone number.
3 End the programming sequence.
  1. Press the button that you just programmed.
  2. Press Program.
