How to Order Cell Phones

What to do		How to do it
1	Gather information.	Consider the phone features you need, your budget, and how many minutes you might use on a monthly basis. Read Cell Phone Overview. Read How to Choose a Cell Phone to see what technology best suits your needs.
2	Review providers and calling plans.	The UCSD Bookstore offers cell phones on a recharge basis through five different providers. You can collect information from these providers in two ways: Visit local showrooms. Contact providers' customer service representatives and visit provider Web sites: AT&T (formerly Cingular) Nextel Sprint PCS T-Mobile Verizon
3	Review pricing.	Consider the cost of the phone, installation, and monthly charges. Decide which feature and pricing package you want. Read about phone activation and service rates.
4	Order the cell phone and service on a recharge basis from the UCSD Bookstore.	Complete a Cell Phone and Service Request Form and submit it electronically to the Bookstore Computer Center. The Computer Center submits your order to the cell phone account representative and also sends an order notification to ACT (Administrative Computing and Telecommunications) for billing.
