How to Request Moving Services

Summary: Find step-by-step instructions for requesting moving services for your UCSD office or lab.
UCSD Moving Services coordinates and performs office and lab moves, uncrates large equipment and furniture, and assembles free-standing and modular furniture.
Note: Laboratory moves require special care. One month before moving laboratory equipment, please contact the Environment, Health, and Safety Office at (858) 534-6138 and read How to Close or Relocate a UCSD Laboratory.

Find out about moving service charges. |
- See Moving Service Charges.

Fill out a Moving Service Form. |
- Download the Moving Service Form.
- To complete the form, follow the step-by-step instructions on How to Complete a Moving Service Form.
- Send the form to the Moving Services Coordinator, Mail Code 0046, or fax the form to (858) 530-0676.
If your move is urgent, call Moving Services at (858) 534-7467, Ext. 237. The Moving Services Coordinator will determine if your move can be scheduled on short notice. If approved, fax the Moving Service Form to (858) 530-0676.

Obtain insurance. |
- Be sure to read the waiver statement on the Moving Service Form.
- Contact Risk Management, (858) 534-2454, to get insurance prior to your move.
Note: Moving Services is not financially responsible for any damage that may occur in the course of any type of move.

Schedule the move. |
- Once the form is received, the Moving Services Coordinator will contact you to coordinate a moving date and time.
