Summary: Learn about copier and card reader error codes and how to respond to them.

Note: If you would like copier training, see Key Operator Training and Copier Manuals.
Situation How to respond
Copier shows a wrench symbol. The wrench symbol is usually accompanied by a code found on the panel where the copy count is displayed. This code can signify a simple paper jam.

If the problem isn't a paper jam, check the error codes associated with the models listed below.

If you can't resolve the problem, request technical assistance in one of the following ways:
Copier model Di450 displays an error code. You can usually clear these Di450 error codes by performing the recommended action:
  • 143F: Open and close the front panel to reset the machine and clear this false ADF code.
  • COF33: Open and close the front panel to reset the machine, then press the toner replenisher key.
  • CO900: Ensure that the correct size paper is in the paper drawer.
  • 13XXX: Open and close the front panel to reset the machine. (This also applies to Di550 copiers.)
Copier model EP4000 displays an error code. You can usually clear these EP4000 error codes by performing the recommended action:
  • COO70: Replace toner.
  • CO200: Open and close the front panel to reset the machine.
  • Cob19: Indicates staple jam.
  • Cob31: Pull sorter away from copier to reset the machine.
Copier model EP6000 displays an error code. You can usually clear these EP6000 error codes by performing the recommended action:
  • COOO: Indicates a paper jam in fuser. Open clam shell and check for paper.
  • CO072: Indicates toner was added. Open and close the front panel to reset the machine.
The card reader displays "Value not found after swiping the card." Record the entire 11-digit number shown on the display. Call (858) 534-2534 for assistance.
The card reader displays "Value not found after the index number is entered." This is a result of one of the following situations:
  • The index number was entered incorrectly. Try entering again.
  • The index number is not authorized on your card. Contact your financial manager to have the index number authorization added to your card.
