Launch problem
How to solve it
A Flash message appears.
The page says:
"This site makes use of Adobe® Flash™ software. To experience it the way we intended, you need Macromedia Flash Player, a plug-in for your Web browser that can play the content we've created."
Click Get Adobe Flash Player. A new window will take you to the Macromedia Web site. Follow the instructions on the page to download and install the Flash player.
The tutorial window does not display in a separate pop-up window.
Some of the tutorials utilize a pop-up window to launch the tutorial. Pop-up blockers must be disabled for these tutorials to launch. If you have a pop-up blocker active, these tutorials cannot launch.
Solution:
Check to see if a pop-up blocker is active. If so, turn it off and re-launch the tutorial. (Hint: You may have blocked pop-up windows by downloading a toolbar from Google, Yahoo, or Netscape, or you may need to change your browser settings.)
If you can't locate a pop-up blocker, try the following steps:
Click the Back button to return to Enrollment Central.
Press and hold down your Control key. Click Launch Tutorial.
Continue to hold down the Control key. You may see a Security Alert message. If the message says:
You are about to be redirected to a site that is not secure. The information you are sending to the current site might be transmitted to a nonsecure site. Do you wish to continue?
Click Yes.
Wait until the tutorial pops up, and then release the Control key.
Use the tutorial's Next buttons to proceed.
A security window pops up, and you click No. Then, nothing happens.
Your browser options have been set to prompt you for certain conditions. You must answer Yes to prompts that refer to being redirected to a nonsecure site.
Solution: Launch the tutorial again, and answer Yes to the prompt.
An error message appears.
When the tutorial launches, an error message says: The attempt to load "Accessing URL:http://webtutorials.ucsd.edu/Sed%5FReadAICC.cfm" failed.
This message occasionally appears when the Web server is busy. It does not interfere with the processing of your tutorial. Click OK, and complete the tutorial.
