Find out how to use the query tool, if necessary. |

Go to the Award Data for Departments-Summary query in FinancialLink. |
- Access the Award Data for Departments-Summary query in FinancialLink.
Note: If you don't have access to FinancialLink, follow the directions in How to Get a User ID (Business Systems).

Make your selections in the query fields. |
- On the Department tab:
- Select your department from the drop-down list next to Department Name.
- On the Money/Dates tab:
- Select <= from the drop-down list next to Project Start Date.
- Enter the ending date of the fiscal year for which you are retrieving data, e.g., 6/30/2003.
- Select >= from the drop-down list next to Project End Date.
- Enter the beginning date of the fiscal year you are retrieving data for, e.g., 7/01/2002.

Submit your query. |
- Click the Submit button to run the query.
- Your query will show up in your browser window as one long row. To save the data to an Excel file or to make a chart, make a selection from the drop-down box to the right.

Modify your query, if needed. |
- After running your query, you can make changes to your selections:
- Click the check box next to a field to have that field display on the query results.
- Un-click the check box next to a field to have that field not display on the query results.
- Enter values in the boxes next to fields to further refine the query.
