How to Become Authorized to Buy Radioactive Materials

1 Become an authorized online buyer for your department.
  1. Follow the steps on How to Become an Online Buyer for Your Department.
2 Request authorization.
  1. Complete the Authorization to Purchase Radioactive Materials form.
    • Get the required RUA number from your PI.
    • Consult your financial manager to get the list of authorized Organization codes for this RUA number.
    • Get information about the approval hierarchy from your DSA.
    • Have your PI fill out and sign the Responsibility of Principal Investigator section.
    • Have your department head or PI sign the form.
  2. Retain a copy for your records.
  3. Mail the signed and completed form to Shirley Kendle, Purchasing, Mail Code 0914.
3 Receive authorization.
  1. Purchasing sends you a signed copy of the authorization form.
  2. Keep the signed copy for your records.
