UCSD Parking Rules and Tips: Time-Controlled Zones

Summary: If you park your vehicle at UCSD, park legally. If you follow the rules and tips below, you can avoid receiving expensive parking citations.

Observe time-controlled zone regulations 24 hours daily, including university-designated holidays and weekends.

Observe posted time limits at time-controlled zones. Time-controlled zones facilitate campus deliveries, services, and passenger pickup and drop-off 24 hours daily.
  • Be aware of the following UCSD time-controlled zones:
    • Yellow curb: 20-minute limit
    • Green or white passenger zone: three-minute limit
    • Service yard: two-hour limit
    • Loading zone: time limit — even if the user has a Disabled Person placard or license plate
  • Never exceed the posted time limit unless you have a specific permit authorizing otherwise.
  • Notify the Parking Compliance Office, (858) 822-3379, if you can't move your car in a timely manner from a time-controlled zone.
