How to Pick Up a Package From Receiving

Summary: You can pick up an expected package from UCSD Receiving by following the steps below.
Exception: UCSD Receiving strictly enforces U.S. Department of Transportation regulations that require only certified employees to transport packages containing hazardous materials. If you are not sure your package contains hazardous material, read a definition and the regulations concerning their transport. |

Get the name of the carrier and the tracking number for your package. |
- Contact the vendor and get the following information for your package:
- Name of the carrier (a company that transports goods)
- Tracking number

Contact UCSD Receiving |
- Call UCSD Receiving at (858) 534-7467, Ext. 247.
- Give the receiver the tracking number and the purchase order number for your package.
- The receiver will confirm that your package was received.

Go to UCSD Receiving. |
- UCSD Receiving is located at 7835 Trade St., Suite 100.
See a detailed map and directions to UCSD Receiving.
Pickup hours: weekdays, 8 a.m. – noon and 1 – 4 pm.
Receiving is closed for pickups during the noon hour.
Enter through the door marked RECEIVING, UC SAN DIEGO.

- When you pick up a package, Receiving requires:
- A picture ID
Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Driver's license
- UCSD campus/ staff ID card
- Your signature
