Parking Checklist for New Employees  
 
Summary: Investigate the available parking options and their requirements to decide which one is right for you.
Checklist What to look for
Choose either permit parking or an alternative option. Parking options vary to suit your needs: Review the following options to decide which is right for you:
Provide UCSD ID. Purchasing a parking permit or joining a rideshare program requires one of the following forms of ID:
  • UCSD ID card: See How to Get a Faculty/ Staff Campus Card
  • UCSD ID number (with picture ID): Available from your department administrator or personnel contact
  • Verification of employment letter: Available from your department administrator or personnel contact and should include:
    • Your name
    • Department
    • Job title or position
    • Hiring status — for example:
      • Career
      • Part-time
      • Temporary
    • An ending date for the position if not indefinite.
Know your payment options.

Note: Payment by credit card is not an option.
