Controlled substances
Controlled substances are psychotropic drugs and drug precursors listed in the Controlled Substances Act and regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration. These drugs are classified as Schedule I – V, or as a "Listed Chemical." Schedule I narcotics have the highest potential for abuse and no legitimate medical uses; Schedule V narcotics have limited potential for abuse; and Listed Chemicals are generally for drug precursors.

See PPM 516-7 (PDF) for policies regarding purchasing of controlled substances at UCSD.
