H-1, H-1A, H-1B, H-2, or H-3 visas are issued to temporary employees or those receiving training not available in their own country. An H visa holder is admitted to the United States followed by a petition filed by a particular employer for a specific job or training program. An H visa holder is not free to accept employment other than that which is pre-specified.
