A collision damage waiver (CDW) is an agreement in which a rental car company agrees not to hold the renter responsible for accidental damage or loss, as long as the renter has not violated the terms of the rental agreement. A CDW may also be called a loss damage waiver (LDW) or a physical damage waiver (PDW).
