RFP (Request for Proposal) is a process by which UCSD formally solicits pricing for goods or services. Professional buyers use RFP when the requestor (e.g., a UCSD department) has a general idea of what is required but needs a supplier to specify details of the product or service, or to negotiate terms and conditions of a contract.
A supplier's submission of an RFP does not guarantee that the supplier will be selected to perform the work.
